Where I Am Now	Where I Want to Be
Writing	I think that I make too many errors in my spelling and grammar. I think my other areas are fine except for spelling and grammar.	I want to be able to check my work better and not make careless mistakes on my writing. I think that I have not fully met my goal but made some improvement. I would also like to add more character development into my stories so it is more interesting for the reader.
Reading Reading 2	I think that I sometimes read too much of the same type of book such as realistic fiction and I will try to read more diverse books.	I want to be able to explore different genres of novels and be able to have a wider knowledge of books and vocabulary. I have definitely made improvement in this category, but I still fail to read some genres of books that have not appealed to me. I am hoping to read different genres of novels to expand my vocabulary.
Critical Thinking	Most of the time, I am able to make strong connections to myself and my world, but sometimes I misinterpret some symbols in paintings or in signs.	I want to be able to think outside the box and be able to create creative and unique connections into symbols. I have learned to use symbols to my advantage by using my own interpretation as my opinion in writing, so that my voice comes out stronger in my pieces of writing.
Class Participation	I think I usually make helpful contributions to the class but I don't listen and I am constantly talking in class and not listening.	I am trying to be quieter in class so that I can pay attention and not disrupt the class as much as I usually do. I have stopped yelling out loud to the class, but I can still be found off-task during a project. I hope to improve this so I can achieve more in a shorter amount of time.
Social Life	I think that I have really good friends but I don't reach out to other kids I don't pay attention to.	I want to be able share great experiences with different and new friends that I never really reached out to in the past. I started to talk to other kids but I still have not fully made strong connections with kids that I hope to be friends with in the future. .

I think that I have put in a lot of effort into my written work so far. I think that I have been getting fairly good scores on my assignments and am turning them in on time every time. One thing I need to improve, is that I sometimes have been makings errors in my writing conventions, but I think that in my recent writing pieces I have checked them thoroughly. Overall, I think that I have been doing a decent job and I hope to keep it up for the rest of the year.
